Akan Abdula

He has ten years of work experience in advertising, marketing strategies, brand management, and market research.

1997 - 2001 He graduated from Bilkent University, Business Administration.

2001 - 2003 He obtained the "MBA in Marketing" degree at the Case Western Reserve University, Weatherhead School of Management.

2005 - 2009 He initiated and managed the biggest ad tracking studies of Turkey as Millward Brown’s Quantitative Research Director.

2009 - 2012 He served as Grey Istanbul’s Head of Strategy responsible for Strategy and Planning and member of the Grey Group Worldwide’s Global Strategy Council.

He created and managed the communication strategies for over 50 brands including Allianz, Chevrolet, Efes, Google, GSK, HSBC, Hürriyet Internet, Kuveyt Türk, Nike, P&G, and Ülker.

He served as Jury at the 2013 Kırmızı Ad Awards.

He is a member of the Advertising Self-regulatory Board.

He was granted the Golden Effie award twice for Turkey’s best product launch campaign and the most effective social responsibility campaign.

He is a TED speaker.

He teaches the CO OP “Brain Secrets” class at the Advertising Faculty of Bahcesehir University. He is listed among the students’ favorite academicians each period.

He is often invited as a speaker to conferences on marketing and advertising. He meets with over 10,000 students each year.
